Treading lightly and stamp out waste

We will tread lightly, and stamp out waste with a goal to reducing the amount of non-recycled waste we generate by 10% each year for the next 10 years.

We will tread lightly, and stamp out waste with a goal to reducing the amount of non-recycled waste we generate by 10% each year for the next 10 years.

We want to reduce the amount of waste we generate, increase the amount we recycle and compost and also phase our single use plastic across all of the park.

How we’re treading lightly and stamping out waste

We’ve put separate bins inside caravans

to help you sort your waste

We’ve established recycling stations

to maximise recycling and composting

We’ve introduced a beach toy borrowing station

to prevent waste and littering

We’ve reduced single-use plastic in our shop

– try our wooden gillying lines!

We’re stocking a range of eco-friendly cleaning products

to reduce harm to wildlife

We’re working with suppliers

to reduce their packaging

We’re encouraging reuse

of coffee cups and water bottles

You can make a difference

Help us by making a few simple changes during your stay. Here are just a few ways you can help us achieve our goals:

  • Separate your waste into the different bins to maximise what is recycled and composted. There are different bins within your caravan holiday home or lodge, and there are recycling stations across the park which each contain a food waste, glass recycling, recycling and general waste bin
  • Use refillable cups/bottles – you’ll get a discount on hot drinks at Wells Beach Café
  • Use our book and puzzle swap, borrow beach gear, and support local businesses in the Pinewoods Store
  • Take leftover food home at the end of your stay
